December 2, 2025 - Old Heidelburg Bakery and Euro Market - Phoenix, Arizona

So after the lunch at Zum Treffpunkit, Jeanne, Wllie and I went to the Old Heidelberg Bakery and Euro Market.

Jeanne bought a big apple strudel…and a chocolate bar…and I bought a chocolate bar…a pretzel…a pretzel croissant, bow tie and small apple strudel pasty…this calls for a return trip.  It also has a great little grocery section.

Go early in the morning before all the close by residents.  They buy all the cherry goodies.

December 2, 2025 - Zum Treffpunkt - Scottsdale, Arizona

I took Jeanne and Willie Stecher to this restaurant to celebrate Willie’s 80th Birthday.   Jeanne is my sister and Willie is my brother-in-law.

Willie ordered the 2 Rouladen (mit Speck, Gewurzgurke und deutschem Senf ) – two tender rolled braised beef slices filled with smoky bacon, sharp German mustard, and tangy pickles…with two sides – Rotkohl ( red cabbage) and Gurkensalat (pickled cucumber salat)

Jeanne ordered the Schweineschnitzrl Weiner Art – Vienna Style Pork Schnitzel – tender pork cutlet, with panko, egg, flour, and spices…fried to golden perfection.- with two sides – Rotkohl (red cabbage) and sauerkraut.

I ordered the Schweineschnitzel Jager Art – breaded pork cutlet smothered in a rich and creamy mushroom sauce with two sides – Gurkensalat (pickled cucumber salat) and sauerkraut.

Willie and I each ordered a beer – Hofbrau Oktoberfest – a German pilsner with a clean taste and a slight hop bitterness.  This is the best beer I have ever had to drink.  No bitter taste at the end of your swallow.

Dessert – Apple Strudel and a piece of Dark Forest Cake…forks around.

I still think Zur Kate in Mesa has better tasting schnitzel.

July 11, 2025 - French Toast Cafe - Mesa, Arizona

I tried this restaurant by myself.

I ordered the Pistachio French Toast with 2 eggs over medium and four pieces of crisp bacon.  Everything was very tasty.  I really liked the sliced banana on one side of the plate…and the sliced strawberries on the other.  That great with the French toast.  It came with this pistachio type of paste on the French toast.  I wasn’t too thrilled with that.  I guess I was expecting something different…but it was still good.

I guess I was expecting the pistachios to be in the French Toast Coating and not a paste.  However, I did enjoy my breakfast there.  The staff was great.  I will return to try other items on the menu.

July 30, 2025 - Bad Jimmy's - Scottsdale, Arizona

I visited with my grandson, Jonah. We have wanted to try this burger place for a long time.

We ordered the  Double Burger – K4 Ranch Premium Arizona Beef, Double Patty, American Cheese,  Not-so-secret Sauce, Griddled Onions, Pickles on a Martin’s Potato Bun.

We split an order of  Criss Cut Fries.  The burgers were delicious but I could only eat half of mine.  Jonah ate the other half.

The fries were  great…hot.. crisp.  It was well worth the visit.
