March 20, 2022 Steak and Stone - Mesa, Arizona

 I visited with Peg Hartman.

They were already out of the 6 oz. fillet medallion…so we each ordered a 6 oz sirloin steak…and they brought it to us on the stone…and our server was fantastic.  He told us if we cut it up…it would cook quicker and it did.  Peg ordered the mushrooms and the sweet potato fries for her sides…I also ordered the mushrooms but chose the roasted garlic mashed potatoes.  Peg ordered wine…and I had a very tasty Bloody Mary.

March 8, 2022 - Gertrude's - Desert Botanical Garden - Phoenix, Arizona

I visited with Peg Hartman after walking the gardens and viewing the Chihuly Exhibition.

Peg Hartman ordered the Chicken Club Salad – chilled sliced chicken breast, croutons, bacon, tomato, romaine, onion, shredded Swiss – creamy avocado dressing.

I ordered the Sonoran Shrimp Salad -  house greens, roasted corn and peppers, tomato, avocado, crispy tortilla strips, hard boiled egg, chilled shrimp and chili citrus vinaigrette.

I have eaten here several times.  I don't know how I always missed writing about it in my blog.  The food has always been delicious!

March 1, 2022 - The Gladly - Phoenix, Arizona

I visited with my son, Joshua and one of his colleagues, Tracey.

All of us ordered The Original Chopped Salad.  Joshua had it with the salmon…but Tracey and I ordered it with steak – it was served with couscous – arugula – pepitas – Asiago cheese – currants – dried super sweet corn – marinated tomatoes – buttermilk and herb dressing.  This is their signature dish.  It was delicious.  I am not a big couscous fan but it was perfect in this salad.  The waiter mixed my salad for me at the table…fantastic…the buttermilk dressing was superb.

At first  I wanted the Steak Salad because it had the bourbon soaked cherries in it…so Joshua ordered me a side order of cherries.  I also had the dessert – Whiskey Bread Pudding with homemade vanilla ice cream…delicious.  It look somewhat like French Toast but it
was a nice thick soaked bread which had the consistency of a custard.  It was really too much for me…but I enjoyed every bite.
