Last Sunday I made this very tasty Simmering Butter
Chicken dish. The sauce had a curry
taste to it. One of the disadvantages of
living along is that when you make some to eat there is no one else there to
eat it with you. So you spend the whole
week cleaning up that left over. It gets
pretty darn boring. I served it over…I
served it with flatbread…which I decided was my favorite.
I finished my last meal of this dish on Thursday for
lunch. Well…I have been busy working. I
have been busy preparing and training to help with Bingo at the compound. I have been busy with all the re-training, etc.
at the Mesa Arts Center where I have ushered for a long time until the pandemic
shut us down.
There are times that I am too tired to start cooking a
meal so I will run some place for fast food.
Because a new Kentucky
Fried Chicken had been built almost right next door to me (it is right on Power
Road between University and Main) I ran over there to get another Classic
Chicken Combo….because it is delicious and there was another $6.99 coupon for
the meal in my mailbox. Who could resist?
I tried their Classic
Chicken Sandwich Combo when the new business first opened..and it was delicious.
I probably have been there 3-4 times since they have opened. I started telling everyone that theirs was
the best. Their fries were better than
Burger King’s.
It was
terrible…drat! Here I thought I found a
new great chicken sandwich. It has always
been one piece of chicken…a piece of breast…white meat. This one looked as if they stuffed in several
left over pieces. It had an off color to
it. I am sure that it sat under the heating
lamp for way past the time. It should
have never been served to a human being.
How do you know though until you get home? What a disappointment!
Do I take it back? Do I
call them? No…because the people working
there don’t understand customer service.
I should have done that anyhow…but I didn’t want to get agitated because
I am sure that the staff would have come off with a look that said, “What do
you mean. There is nothing wrong with
this.” Really?
Last night I worked way
longer than anticipated…old Mother Hubbard’s cupboard was bare because I didn’t
have the time to run to the grocery store So I decided that I would go to
Burger King ( at the intersection of University and Power) and try out one of
the new deals. I would go into the store
and see if I could order it on my app…to see how that works (That is another whole story). I
drove over .…went into the store.
One young lady was working the counter.
She didn’t acknowledge me…nada. She
was busy putting together an order…and I understand those who can’t chew gum
and walk at the same time…there are people who can only do one thing at a time.
This little guy was also
standing pretty close to me with money in his hand. I
asked him if he had ordered and he indicated that he had...but I don’t know
that he did.
She is still behind the
counter and walks right by us on her mission to deliver the order to a car in the
parking lot…that is waiting…and I can put up with that just at least acknowledge
customers waiting at the counter. Why
should I be surprised about this? No one
has ever taught these people about customer service…no one has ever taught
these people about etiquette of any manner.
No one has ever taught these people that they are the first impression
of the company.
Now I sit down on the bench…and
the little boy is still standing there…who knows why.
Two people come in the
door and are standing…in she comes..and says to them, “May I help you?” Really?
I walked out..and the guy is saying to me, “go ahead…” It doesn’t take him long to realize that we were
also waiting. I respond, “Why should I patronize
this establishment when they don’t have a clue about customer service.”
You know I love that
this new Burger King is so close to me.
I have always had a tasty meal there.
I like the little burgers…and their little burgers are way better than
McDonald’s. Their meat has always tasted
good.
I have eaten many of their
hand breaded Classic Chicken sandwiches. I
love it. Before they were located close
by, I would drive to Crisman and the #60
to Popeye’s for my Chicken sandwiches…which were the best. But now I have the best right close by.
I decided to go
somewhere else and buy my meal. I chose
Rally’s…down University at Greenfield. I
had only been there once with my grandson...and it was pretty good. That time we didn’t have any fries...and
people were telling me that the fries were to die for…so I went there. I went through the drive through because there
is only outdoor dining...and I didn’t want to do that because it was getting close
to 8:00 p.m.
I ordered the Baconzilla
Combo – a choice of two meat patties or three…I chose two patties…it included
fries and a drink. I took my order
home. The fries were good…I liked them…but
they weren’t the best fries I have ever eaten.
I must say though the worst was the taste of the meat.
It tasted terrible. There is
nothing worse than biting into a burger and going yuck! I won’t be returning there for a long time if
ever. Why order a burger at a burger
stand…if the burger tastes terrible!
I have to ask myself…do
I want to be treated like this as a customer.
No…not really!
I probably will once
again make that drive to Popeye’s for my chicken sandwiches. At this point I guess I have to stop eating
burgers because I won’t put up with the help.
I did try to reach the
management of the Burger King via email.
But I have not at this time heard from them.
