Aprl 27, 2017 - Warren Tavern - Charlestown, Massachusetts

Jo Martin and I stopped at this historic tavern on our way home from the Bunker Hill Battle Site.

Jo ordered the Baked Haddock – Fresh Atlantic haddock broiled with lemon, butter, white wine and homemade breadcrumbs. Served with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts and yellow turnips.

I ordered the Fried Seafood Combo – fresh deep fried haddock, scallops and shrimp served with fried and cole slaw.  Mine was very good…as was the homemade tartar sauce…and the homemade cole slaw had a poppy seed base for the dressing…very tasty.

The tavern was built in 1780.  Paul Revere was a frequent patron of the tavern.  George Washington met his friend here in 1789.  Fun stop!
