March 24, 2017 - Spinato’s Pizzeria - Phoenix, Arizona

My niece and her son, Zach Hammler are in the Valley of the Sun to play in a soccer tournament.

This evening several of the family were at his second soccer game of the season.  After we all decided to go out for dinner.  We chose Spinato's Pizzeria.  There were 10 of us – Kristin and Zach Hammler, Anita and Issac Naughton, Jeanne and Willie Stecher, Tom and Carolyn Patrick and Willie’s sister LaVerne Bourdeau.

We ordered three pizzas for the group – all with thin crusts:
Get Meaty – Italian sausage, Italian beef,  pepperoni, smoked Canadian bacon and mozzarella;     The Spicy Italian – meatball, pepperoni, red onions, mozzarella;            The Combo – Italia sausage, mushroom, mixed green and red sweet bell pepper, mozzarella.

I tried pieces form all three pizzas.  All were delicious.  The red sauce had a sweet taste to it…no tomato paste at all.  My guess is that they use fresh sweet tomatoes and basil.   I can hardly wait for my next trip to Spinato's Pizzeria.
